Fall is upon us, with the holiday season on its heels. We all want to look perfectly stunning for all of this season’s holiday events. But how? Look perfect by using these four keys to a great holiday look.
Whether you’re putting together your outfit from your closet or the local shop, make sure to include the more festive tones of fall. These include classic red (that complements your skin color), emerald green, lovely teal, various shades of purple, and the classic grey. You know the colors that you look the best in. Even if these colors are not what you would usually choose, instead of wearing the tried and true all black, use black with white accented by holiday silver or gold.
A lot of holiday outfits are form hugging. Most of us need “secret weapons” to look our best. Many of us like to hit the gym and/or lose a few pounds before the holiday season knowing that we will probably gain them back with all the parties and festivities. So wear your best fitting bra, and other shape wear when sampling outfits. Consider using a seamless bra, and possibly pantyhose with a control top.
Think about the cut of your outfit. A classic cut with lines that you like and that flatter your body is ideal. Although it is the holiday season, that doesn’t necessarily mean tight and glitzy is the right choice. Consider a wrap dress which is very flattering for a variety of body types. A deep V style will accent your bust line. Avoid spaghetti strap outfits for a small bust, rather consider that wider straps in a backless top or a halter may be the perfect look. Do not be afraid to experiment with many different tops and dresses to see what flatters your figure. Once you have chosen the cut, you can choose the color that is best for you. Having a friend that you trust go along with you to give feedback is very helpful.
After choosing an outfit and putting it on, it’s time to accessorize. Necklaces are the perfect place to start. A choker length necklace looks great with a strapless top, for instance. When you have your necklace is secured, continue to accessorize with a watch, earrings, or bracelet. You don’t have to perfectly match your shoes and purse with your accessories, but if you have silver accessories for instance, silver shoes and a belt with hints of that same silver look excellent. Gold also complements silver very well. Bronze it is a good alternative for gold. We’re not after a perfect match, but rather a blending of pieces into a whole. If you have a perfect necklace that is a bit too short, an extender is easily put on by a jeweler, for only a few dollars.
It’s easy to put together the perfect holiday outfit, and save time by following these steps. You’ll be stunning in an outfit that both complements your skin tone and flatters your shape. Properly accessorized, this winning ensemble will appear to be effortless on your part.
